| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joanne M. "Jodie" Adler, who passed away | 4 | | on July 4, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler was born on November 26, 1931 in | 6 | | Chicago; her parents were Mildred (nee Ward) and Harry Biddle; | 7 | | and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler attended St. Hilary School in | 9 | | Chicago, Immaculate Conception School in Morris, Morris | 10 | | Community High School, St. Francis Academy in Joliet, St. | 11 | | Mary's College in South Bend, and the University of St. Francis | 12 | | in Joliet; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler was part of the original staff of TV | 14 | | station WABI in Bangor, Maine, the first station north of | 15 | | Boston; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler volunteered at the Shady Oaks | 17 | | Cerebral Palsy summer program; she worked with the early | 18 | | childhood development program at the Encyclopedia Brittanica | 19 | | Center at the University of St. Francis in Joliet; she was also | 20 | | the founder of the Fountainview Banquet Center, a special site | 21 | | for many different events; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler was a member of Sacred Heart Parish | 2 | | in Joliet and Mary Mother of Jesus Inclusive Catholic Community | 3 | | in Sarasota; she and her husband were the founding host couple | 4 | | of the Young Christian Nurses Association of Joliet, regional | 5 | | directors of the Christian Family Movement, co-founders of | 6 | | Joliet's Spanish Center, and regional members of the Christian | 7 | | Family Movement; she was also a member of the Catholic-Jewish | 8 | | Dialogue of Chicago and the Visitation and Aid Society; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler was preceded in death by her | 10 | | daughter, Margaret Mary and her brother-in-law, Jack (Dorothy) | 11 | | Adler; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Adler is survived by her husband of 62 | 13 | | years, Joe; her brother, Ward Biddle. C.P., Passionist Order; | 14 | | her sisters, Jackie (the late John) Berg and Mary Kay (the late | 15 | | John) Aisthorpe; her sister-in-law, Mary Beth (Dr. Arthur) | 16 | | Wilhelmi; she was the loving and devoted mother of 7, the | 17 | | grandmother of 22, and the great-grandmother of 5, which | 18 | | includes Dan and his family, Jake (Megan), Rachel (Robert) | 19 | | Ayoung Chee, Emma, Josh, and Nathan; Teddy (Ray) Finney and his | 20 | | family, Bridget Thomas (Brad) and their children, Izzy and | 21 | | Ellie; Emily (Nanasei) Agyemang and her son, Finney, Jenna | 22 | | (Brian) Murphy and her daughter, Mary; Jackie (Sam) Tucci and | 23 | | her family, Sam, Tony, and Jeff; Chris (Lori) and his family, |
