| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Edward F. | 4 |
| "Babe" Drea of Springfield, who passed away on June 3, 2010; | 5 |
| and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, He was born December 28, 1922, in Taylorville to | 7 |
| Edward and Hettie Hill Drea; he graduated in 1941 from | 8 |
| Southfork High School in Kincaid; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He married his wife of 57 years, Doris Mae | 10 |
| Reynolds, on June 20, 1953; he was an active member of the | 11 |
| Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and was a veteran, | 12 |
| serving in the 5th Army Air Corps during World War II; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was active in the United Mine Workers | 14 |
| Association, the Taylorville Knights of Columbus, and was a | 15 |
| charter member of the Taylorville VFW; Mr. Drea retired as a | 16 |
| coal miner from Mine 10 in Pawnee after 40 years of service; | 17 |
| and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his | 19 |
| two brothers, Joseph and Patrick Drea; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Edward Drea is survived by his wife, Doris; his |

| daughter, Tama (Joseph) Kuznik; his sons, Edward J. (Lori) Drea | 2 |
| and Timothy E. (Elizabeth) Drea; his eight grandchildren; his | 3 |
| four great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Corso; and several | 4 |
| nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 6 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 7 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Edward | 8 |
| Drea; and be it further
| 9 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 |
| presented to the family of Edward Drea as a symbol of our | 11 |
| sincere sympathy.
