| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George Lewis of Waukegan, who passed away | 4 | | on December 21, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Lewis was born to Tom and Mattie (Helm) | 6 | | Lewis; he was their only son; he grew up in Danville, Kentucky; | 7 | | he attended Danville High School, where he excelled in track | 8 | | and football; he attended West Kentucky Industrial College and | 9 | | studied masonry; he was drafted into the U.S. Army and fought | 10 | | in Vietnam; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, George Lewis was a loyal member of the Brick/Stone | 12 | | Masonry Union Local #20 and retired after 25 years of service; | 13 | | he worked for the U.S. Defense at Great Lakes in Public Works | 14 | | as a stone mason and retired after 10 years of service; he | 15 | | served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 20 years and retired as | 16 | | Master Sergeant; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, George Lewis was known for his discipline and | 18 | | patriotism; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, George Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 42 | 20 | | years, Gloria; his sons, Damon, Ryan (April), and Kenny; his | 21 | | grandson, Jordan Mason; his special cousins, Jim and Joyce |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | George Lewis and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 7 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of George Lewis as an expression of our | 10 | | deepest sympathy.
