| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Paul Andrea Silvio of Woodstock, who | 4 | | passed away on January 3, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Silvio was born in Chicago to Joseph and | 6 | | Theresa (Muscarello) Silvio on August 5, 1934; he served in the | 7 | | United States Marines from 1956 to 1958; he married Marcia D. | 8 | | Janis at St. Gerald's Catholic Church in Oak Lawn on June 24, | 9 | | 1961; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Paul Silvio worked in the research and development | 11 | | division of Kraft Foods for over 35 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Paul Silvio had both scientific and musical | 13 | | talents and often played the organ or sang Italian songs at the | 14 | | kitchen table after coming home from work; he enjoyed being | 15 | | active and was a faithful fan of Chicago sports teams; he was | 16 | | an avid train enthusiast and built HO model trainscapes, | 17 | | including a winter scene he displayed each Christmas; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, In the mid 1980s, Paul was diagnosed with Primary | 19 | | Lateral Sclerosis (PLS); shortly after his diagnosis, he began | 20 | | documenting his philosophies, perspectives on several topics, | 21 | | and stories from his life for his grandchildren; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Paul Silvio is survived by his wife, Marcia; his | 2 | | children, Paulette (Phil) Gregorcy, Annette (Dennis) Bechtold, | 3 | | and Christina (Mark) Haggerty; his grandchildren, Casey | 4 | | Bechtold, Lauren Gregorcy, John Paul Gregorcy, Danielle and | 5 | | Brandon Deraney, Austin Gregorcy, Brooke Gregorcy, Sophia | 6 | | Haggerty, Max Haggerty, and Devin Haggerty; his siblings, Andre | 7 | | Silvio and Linda (Ted) Frega; his sister-in-law, Kay Janis; and | 8 | | his nieces, nephews, and other dear relatives and friends; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Paul Andrea Silvio and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
