| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard "Dick" J. Morrow of Rock Island, | 4 | | who passed away on January 18, 2017 at the age of 87; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Morrow was born in Wall Lake, Iowa to | 6 | | James Archibald and Emily Stewart Patterson Morrow on September | 7 | | 3, 1929; he graduated from Keosauqua High School and Iowa State | 8 | | College with a degree in agricultural engineering and married | 9 | | Carol Ellen McConnell in Argo, Iowa on February 14, 1959; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Richard Morrow was a veteran of the United States | 11 | | Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict; he would go on | 12 | | to become a private pilot, build an experimental airplane, and | 13 | | later participate in the Honor Flight; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Richard Morrow retired from John Deere in 1984, | 15 | | after serving 28 years as a service manager; he was a comedic | 16 | | poet and writer; he sang barbershop as a baritone for 35 years | 17 | | and also was a member of the barbershop quartet, Generation | 18 | | Four; he worked passionately on many restoration projects | 19 | | throughout his life, including John Deere equipment and a | 20 | | Korean-era military Jeep; he enjoyed gardening and was every | 21 | | dog's friend; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Richard Morrow was preceded in death by his | 2 | | parents, and his siblings, Robert and Ethel; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Richard Morrow is survived by his wife, Carol | 4 | | Morrow; his sons, Dale (Kelly) Morrow, Dennis (Angela) Morrow, | 5 | | and David (Sue) Morrow; his grandchildren, Abigail Morrow, | 6 | | Nathaniel Morrow, Madelyn Morrow, and Natalie Morrow; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Richard "Dick" J. Morrow, and extend our sincere condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
