| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Sgt. Jason Boesdorfer of Chatham, who | 4 | | passed away on May 8, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer was born in Springfield to Mark | 6 | | Boesdorfer and Ellen Robertson on December 9, 1975; he | 7 | | graduated from Williamsville High School in 1994 and earned his | 8 | | bachelor's degree in law enforcement and criminal justice | 9 | | administration from Western Illinois University; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer served as a police officer with | 11 | | the Decatur Police Department until he joined the Sangamon | 12 | | County Sheriff's Department in 2004, where he was a sergeant; | 13 | | he was the commander of the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office | 14 | | Tactical Negotiations Team; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer coached football in Pleasant | 16 | | Plains; he enjoyed boating, football, and golf; he was an avid | 17 | | fan of Notre Dame and Georgia football; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer was preceded in death by his | 19 | | grandfathers, LaVerne Boesdorfer and Franklyn Robertson, and | 20 | | his grandmother, Ruth Robertson; and

Boesdorfer is survived by his children, | 2 | | Abbie, Hayden, and Alexandria "Lu" Boesdorfer; his wife, | 3 | | Stephanie Boesdorfer; his mother, Ellen Robertson; his father, | 4 | | Mark Boesdorfer; his brothers, Walter (Trish) Hauck, Edward | 5 | | Hauck, Michael (Kim) Hauck, and Kipp (Fatima) Boesdorfer; and | 6 | | his grandmother, Gloria; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Sgt. Jason Boesdorfer and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
