| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jerry White of Springfield, who passed | 4 | | away on December 20, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jerry White was born in Springfield to George and | 6 | | Margaret Kiely White on November 21, 1937; he earned his | 7 | | bachelor's degree from Loyola University in 1960 and married | 8 | | Mary Ellen Bahl in Chicago on June 11, 1960; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jerry White was a longtime realtor; he worked for | 10 | | the Department of Children and Family Services, where he | 11 | | founded the One Church and the One Child Adoption Program and | 12 | | served as Coordinator of Special Events and Public Information | 13 | | Officer; he was also a former director of the United Way in | 14 | | Morgan County; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jerry White served as chairman of the Sangamon | 16 | | County Board of Review; he was a former candidate for State | 17 | | Senate and the Sangamon County Recorder's Office; he was | 18 | | president of the Sangamon County Republican Network and served | 19 | | as committeeman for the Gardner 1 Township; he was also a | 20 | | member of the Illinois and National Association of Realtors and | 21 | | was most recently appointed to the Property Tax Appeal Board; | 22 | | he was a member of Christ the King Parish; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jerry White was preceded in death by his parents | 2 | | and his sister, Norma Jean Yoggerst; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jerry White is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; | 4 | | his children, Lynn A. Petty, Karen (Vince) Manoogian, and Mark; | 5 | | his grandchildren, Daniel Petty, Anna and Natalie Manoogian, | 6 | | and Max and Isabella White; and his great-grandchildren, James | 7 | | and William Petty; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Jerry White, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 11 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Jerry White as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
