| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Willie | 4 | | Mae Jordan of Morgan Park, who passed away on August 27, 2018; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Willie Jordan was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi | 7 | | to Alonzo and Dillard Brown on March 15, 1928; she was the | 8 | | third of ten children and committed to her faith at an early | 9 | | age; she was educated in Kosciusko, Mississippi; she married | 10 | | Clifton Jordan Jr. in 1949, and they had seven children; she | 11 | | took great pride in raising her children; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1988, after her children were grown and | 13 | | independent, Willie Jordan accepted a job at the United States | 14 | | Postal Service; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, No matter where she lived, Willie Jordan was | 16 | | diligent about finding a church home and was a member of Third | 17 | | Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist | 18 | | Church, and Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Morgan Park, her | 19 | | final church home; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Willie Jordan was preceded in death by her | 21 | | husband, Clifton; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Willie Jordan is survived by her daughters, | 2 | | Camille (Thomas) Randall, Antoinette (Rodney) Lewis, Felicia | 3 | | Gail (William) Gibbs, Carolyn Celestine (Lorenzo) Wiggins, | 4 | | Cecelia Lynn (Michael) Fields, and Bonita Parker; her son, | 5 | | Clifton (Javonna) Jordan; her 22 grandchildren; her 31 | 6 | | great-grandchildren; her brothers, James (Roxie) Thompson, Joe | 7 | | (Callie) Thompson, and Rob Thompson; her sister, Barbara | 8 | | (Lawrence) Thompson; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, | 9 | | in-laws, and friends; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 11 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 12 | | mourn the passing of Willie Mae Jordan and extend our sincere | 13 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 14 | | her; and be it further
