| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Peter Couvall; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Peter Couvall was born in Waukegan to Anthony and | 5 | | Georgia Couvall on December 23, 1944; he graduated from North | 6 | | Chicago High School in 1962 and attended Loras College and The | 7 | | University of Dubuque; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Peter Couvall had a long career in the hospitality | 9 | | industry, which included owning and operating the Little Red | 10 | | Hen restaurant and managing The Red Balloon restaurants in | 11 | | Deerfield and Des Plaines; his most notable position was the | 12 | | general manager of the Playboy Club in Chicago and Dallas; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Peter Couvall was a member of the Saint Demetrio's | 14 | | Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on the parish council | 15 | | for 17 years and as the board president for 10 years; he was an | 16 | | enthusiastic and empowered member of the Lake County Democratic | 17 | | party, where he served at length as the First Vice Chairman of | 18 | | the party and Committeeman for the 349th precinct; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Peter Couvall was an avid reader of biographies, | 20 | | autobiographies, and political books; he liked nothing more | 21 | | than a robust political conversation; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Peter Couvall was preceded in death by his wife of | 2 | | 45 years, Donna Edwards Couvall; his son, Jonathan Couvall; and | 3 | | his parents; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Peter Couvall is survived by his son, Anthony | 5 | | Peter; his siblings, Edna Mitchell, Theresa Karigan, Theofane | 6 | | Patterson, Loverne Couvall, Patricia (Nick) Rendziperis, | 7 | | George (Jackie) Couvall, and James (Janet) Couvall; and | 8 | | numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Peter Couvall and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 13 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Peter Couvall as an expression of | 16 | | our deepest sympathy.
