| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jeanne | 4 | | Hebeisen of Elgin, who passed away on November 13, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen was born to Lee and Emily | 6 | | (Johanek) Northcliffe on April 21, 1927; she earned her | 7 | | bachelor's degree in Math from the University of Wisconsin; | 8 | | she later returned to school to earn a degree in Computer | 9 | | Science; she married Neil Hebeisen in 1950; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen worked in her husband's law | 11 | | practice while her children were young, briefly taught math at | 12 | | Elgin Community College, and then had a career as a systems | 13 | | analyst at Safety-Kleen; when times were lean, she took a | 14 | | second job at night with an answering service in order to earn | 15 | | supplemental income; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, After retirement, Jeanne Hebeisen volunteered for | 17 | | a number of organizations, including the American Association | 18 | | of University Women (AAUW), the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Head | 19 | | Start, and the YWCA; she also read to children in elementary | 20 | | schools and wrote the AAUW newsletter and the Elgin Symphony | 21 | | League treasurer report; she received several awards for her | 22 | | volunteer work over the years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen enjoyed gardening, creating | 2 | | custom cards for birthdays, traveling, playing the piano, | 3 | | reading her way through piles of old newspapers, magazines, | 4 | | and books stacked around her house, painting her house, and | 5 | | spoiling her grandchildren; she was a huge sports fan and | 6 | | rarely missed a Chicago Cubs game or any of the University of | 7 | | Wisconsin basketball or football games; she regularly attended | 8 | | Elgin Symphony concerts, Goodman Theater productions, and | 9 | | Great Books discussions; she was an avid fan of PBS, | 10 | | particularly Masterpiece Theater and Mystery; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Hebeisen is survived by her children, | 12 | | Cheryl, Keith, Jill, Nancy, Julie, and Brian; her | 13 | | grandchildren, David, Gregor, Melanie, Ken, Travis, and | 14 | | Marina; her great-grandchildren, Noah and Sasha; her chosen | 15 | | grandchildren, John and Matt; her chosen daughter, Linda; her | 16 | | numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Starr; therefore, be | 17 | | it
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 19 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 20 | | we mourn the passing of
Jeanne Hebeisen and extend our sincere
| 21 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
