SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Walker Lee Bryan of Beecher City, who passed away on September 29, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan was born to Kenneth Bryan and Macy Reed in Effingham on November 4, 2012; he was a fifth grader at Beecher City Grade School; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan enjoyed being outdoors and riding bikes with his friends, and he was looking forward to receiving a mountain bike for his upcoming birthday; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan enjoyed collecting Pokémon cards, and he was known for being able to discuss the cards' meanings and merits at length; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan enjoyed helping at the local tractor pulls due to his love of semis and trucks, and he expressed plans of following in his father's footsteps and attending technical school after graduation; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan loved animals, especially his pet dog, Red, and his pet kitten, Bean, that he saved over the summer; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan loved spending time with his family; he was regarded as a great older cousin who also enjoyed spending time with his uncles; and

WHEREAS, More than anything, Walker Bryan loved his little sister, Rosie, and he took his role as protective older brother very seriously; and

WHEREAS, Walker Bryan was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Rose "Rosie" Bryan; and

WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Walker Bryan was survived by his mother; his maternal grandparents, Rachel Reed and Mark Reed; his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Janice Bryan McNeely; his maternal great-grandmother, Jeanie Doty; his aunts, Mariah Reed, Camie (Daniel) Wilke, Beau Reed, and Honora Reed; his cousins, Denver, Paloma, Manny, and Audie; and many extended family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Walker Lee Bryan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walker Bryan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
