SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Francis R. "Frank" Adlfinger of Milan, who passed away on May 11, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger was born in Rock Island to Harry and Mary Kimball on October 6, 1933; he graduated from the second graduating class at Alleman High School in 1951; he earned his bachelor's degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Nancy Carr at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport on January 27, 1962; and

WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger worked as an electrical engineer for both AMETEK and the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1992; he then happily spent the next 32 years working alongside his son, Matt, at Adlfinger Landscaping; and

WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gerry Padakis; and his brother, Vern Adlfinger; and

WHEREAS, Frank Adlfinger is survived by his wife, Nancy Adlfinger; his children, Tom (Kim) Adlfinger, Matt (Doreen) Adlfinger, Anne (Brad) Thilges, Paul Adlfinger, and Katherine Moens; his grandchildren, Mary (Ty) Balduf, Ethan (Emily) Adlfinger, Lucy Adlfinger, Peter Moens, David Moens, and Jon Moens; his great-grandchildren, Sadie Balduf and William Adlfinger; and his sister, Joan Freed; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Francis R. "Frank" Adlfinger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Adlfinger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
