| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Harper Layne Finn of Altamont, who | 4 | | passed away on August 2, 2023; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn was born to Richard and Bethany | 6 | | (Stuckemeyer) Finn in Hammond, Indiana on June 8, 2018; she | 7 | | graduated from Frog Pond Nursery School in Altamont, and she | 8 | | was looking forward to starting kindergarten; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn dreamed of becoming a cheerleader one | 10 | | day, and she was preparing to appear in the Effingham County | 11 | | Fair Little Miss pageant at the time of her passing; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn enjoyed wearing dresses, painting her | 13 | | nails, running and playing outside with her brother and | 14 | | cousins, jumping in bouncy houses, singing, and dancing; she | 15 | | liked reading and playing with her horses and other animals; | 16 | | her favorite foods were butter noodles, cheese pizza, and her | 17 | | grandmother Donna's pancakes; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn loved all things pink, and she | 19 | | especially loved spending time with her family, the three | 20 | | family dogs, and friends; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn will be remembered for her brave and | 2 | | adventurous spirit; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn was preceded in death by her paternal | 4 | | grandfather, Rick Finn; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harper Finn is survived by her parents; her | 6 | | brother, Lincoln; her paternal grandmothers, Lisa Tipsword and | 7 | | Rikki Finn; her maternal grandparents, Dean and Donna | 8 | | Stuckemeyer; her maternal great-grandfather, Leo Stuckemeyer; | 9 | | her aunts and uncles, Travis (Kara) Tipsword, Amie Tipsword, | 10 | | and Amy (Brandon) West; and many cousins; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 13 | | Harper Layne Finn and extend our sincere
condolences to her | 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it | 15 | | further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 17 | | presented to the family of Harper Finn as an expression of
