| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of James P. McTigue of Chicago, who passed | 4 |
| away on July 6, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, James McTigue served with the United States Marine | 6 |
| Corps during the Vietnam War from January 1966 to December | 7 |
| 1968; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He served with the 1st Battalion 13th Marines, the | 9 |
| A Battery 13th Marines, and was attached to the 26th Marines; | 10 |
| he served in the Central Highlands near Da Nang, the border of | 11 |
| Cambodia, Loas, and the DMZ; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, James McTigue received the Purple Heart, the | 13 |
| National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and | 14 |
| the Vietnam Service Medal; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He was an active member of the St Edward Parish | 16 |
| community and worked for the Chicago Department of General | 17 |
| Services; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, James P. McTigue was the loving son of the late | 19 |
| John and Catherine, nee Stack; the beloved husband of Cindy, | 20 |
| nee Webber; the loving father of Jimmy, Heather (Ben) Swenson, |

| and Lauren; the dear brother of John (Trish), Kate Brown, and | 2 |
| the late Peggy (late Chuck) Guzialek and Tom; the fond uncle | 3 |
| and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews; he is also survived | 4 |
| by many cousins and friends; and he was the master and | 5 |
| companion to "Lucky Dog"; therefore, be it
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | 7 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 8 |
| his family and friends, the passing of James P. McTigue; and be | 9 |
| it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the family of James P. McTigue as a symbol of our | 12 |
| sympathy.
