AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1488

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1488 as follows:
 
3on page 3, by replacing lines 6 through 12 with the following:
4    "(f-5) The Teacher Performance Assessment Task Force is
5created to evaluate potential performance-based and objective
6teacher performance assessment systems for implementation
7across all educator preparation programs in this State, with
8the intention of ensuring consistency across programs and
9supporting a thoughtful and well-rounded licensure system.
10Members appointed to the Task Force must reflect the racial,
11ethnic, and geographic diversity of this State. The Task Force
12shall consist of all of the following members:"; and
 
13on page 4, line 9, by replacing "business officials" with
14"administrators"; and
 
15on page 5, by replacing lines 6 and 7 with the following:

1"public university in this State and each a current member of
2the faculty of an approved educator preparation program,"; and
 
3on page 5, by replacing lines 10 and 11 with the following:
4"4-year nonpublic university or college in this State and each
5a current member of the faculty of an approved educator"; and
 
6on page 6, immediately below line 1, by inserting the
7following:
8        "(22) One member representing a statewide organization
9    that partners with educator preparation programs and
10    school districts to support the growth and development of
11    preservice teachers, appointed by the State Superintendent
12    of Education.
13        (23) One member representing a statewide organization
14    that advocates for educational equity and racial justice
15    in schools, appointed by the State Superintendent of
16    Education.
17        (24) One member representing a statewide organization
18    that represents school boards, appointed by the State
19    Superintendent of Education.
20        (25) One member who has, within the last 5 years,
21    served as a cooperating teacher, appointed by the State
22    Superintendent of Education.".
