SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Nancy Ann Marquardt of Quincy, who
4passed away on October 7, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt was born in Quincy to Douglas and
6Marjorie Sprague Wells on October 3, 1935; she graduated from
7Quincy High School in 1953 and attended the Deaconess College
8of Nursing in St. Louis; she graduated from Gem City Business
9College in Quincy and married Anthony Marquardt in Quincy on
10April 23, 1955; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt worked in various departments at
12Blessing Hospital, including x-ray, the lab, and as a medical
13secretary; she then worked at the private practices of both
14Dr. Brenner and Dr. Yu, as a medical secretary and in medical
15billing; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt loved raising her family, and
17being a mother was the highlight of her life; she was a member
18of Salem Church and the Women's City Club; she was an avid
19bridge player and loved to shop; she also enjoyed boating,
20family trips, and spending time on the water at Lake of the
21Ozarks; most of all, she adored her grandchildren and
22great-grandchildren; and

1    WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt was preceded in death by her
2husband, Anthony; her parents; her son, Jeffrey Marquardt; and
3her brother, Dick Wells; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt is survived by her daughters,
5Deborah (Doug) Olson and Susan Bennett; her grandchildren,
6Brooke (Mike) Spring, Brett Olson, Christopher Bennett,
7Johnathan (Kaleigh) Marquardt, Shaun Marquardt, and Ashley
8Marquardt; her great-grandchildren, Caroline and Olivia
9Spring, Logan Carver, and Myles Landes; and her nieces and
10nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Nancy Ann Marquardt and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Nancy Marquardt as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
