SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mary Ellen "Babe" Becherer of Granite
4City, who passed away on November 26, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Becherer was born to Phillip H. and
6Edna M. (Willis) Sheridan in Granite City on December 15,
71932; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Becherer was a homemaker and devoted
9mother who enjoyed her days of taking care of her family and
10putting their needs above her own; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Becherer was a member of St. Elizabeth
12Catholic Church and had attended Holy Family Catholic Church
13in Granite City; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Becherer was preceded in death by her
15parents; her husband, Robert Henry Becherer Sr.; her brothers,
16Monsignor Paul W. Sheridan and Phillip H. Sheridan Jr.; and
17her sisters, Dolores Sheridan and Margaret Rehagen; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Becherer is survived by her children,
19Paul (Gina) Becherer, Mary Kay (Bill) Denning, Richard
20(Denise) Becherer, Katie (Tom) Bakke, John (Patti) Becherer,

1and Sue (Chris) Glass; her 12 grandchildren; her two
2great-grandchildren; and her many other close family members
3and friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Mary Ellen Becherer and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Mary Ellen Becherer as an
11expression of our deepest sympathy.
