SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Frank J. Furlan, who passed away on 
4September 28, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Furlan was born in Waukegan on October 13, 
61929; he served as an engineer with the United States Navy from 
71950 to 1952; he received his Bachelor of Science in Civil 
8Engineering from Chicago Technical College in 1953; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Furlan served as a vice chairman at the 
10Bank of Waukegan; he also worked as  a supervisor of Lake County 
11from 1969 to 1973 and on behalf of the City of Waukegan as a 
12city engineer since 1977; and
  
 

  
13    WHEREAS, Frank Furlan was a member of many professional 
14and civic organizations, including the Council for the 
15Promotion of Professional Employment Practices, the Society of 
16America Military Engineers, the Central States Water Pollution 
17Control Association, the Illinois Professional Engineers 
18Foundation (founder member), the American Water Works 
19Association, the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, 
20the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Eagles, 
21the Elks, Gaslight, the Swedish Glee Club, and the Waukegan 
22Yacht Club; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Frank J. Furlan and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Frank Furlan as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
