SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert W. Lawrence of Rock Island, who
4passed away on February 3, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Lawrence was born to Albert Richard Sr.
6and Leona Bessie Roehrs Lawrence in Rock Island on February 4,
71939; he graduated from Rock Island High School; he proudly
8served in the U.S. Army as military police when stationed in
9Manheim, Germany; he married Phyllis A. Campagna at St. Pius X
10Catholic Church in Rock Island on July 31, 1965; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Lawrence worked as a bricklayer for 25
12years; he then became a realtor for Mel Foster and later Remax
13On Track; he retired in October of 2006; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Robert Lawrence was a member of St. Pius X
15Catholic Church in Rock Island, where he served many years as a
16Eucharistic Minister; he was an honorary life-long member of
17the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Moline American
18Legion Post 246, and a member of the Rock Island Conservation
19Club; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Lawrence enjoyed fishing with his friends,
21Neil and Tom, his brother, Elmer, and his grandson, Jon; he

1loved to cook and specialized in Tuscan soup and perfectly
2baked pork chops; he cherished family gatherings and attending
3his grandchildren's activities; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Lawrence was preceded in death by his
5parents; his sisters, Betty, Dorothy, Jeneane and infant
6sister, Judy; and his brother, Albert Jr.; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Lawrence is survived by his wife, Phyllis
8Lawrence; his children, Debbie (Rob) Duffy, Lisa (Matt)
9Maxwell, Joe (Gina) Lawrence, and Jeff (Michaela) Lawrence;
10his grandchildren, Jackie, Alex, and Liz Duffy, Jacob, Jon,
11and Annie Maxwell, Payton and Carly Lawrence, and Addison and
12Michael Lawrence; his brother, Elmer (Naomi) Lawrence; and his
13many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Robert W. Lawrence and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Robert Lawrence as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
