SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Duward Fredrick Inch, who passed away on January 29, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Duward Inch was born in Rock Island on October 6, 1946; he was raised by his grandparents, George and Vera; he spent most of life living and working in the Quad Cities; he graduated from Rock Island High School; he served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Bennington; he married Linda Liphardt in 1968; and

WHEREAS, Duward Inch's banking career began by repossessing cars; he eventually became a vice president at Blackhawk Bank and Trust before retiring in 2012; his early jobs included Schaffers Shell and Henry's Hamburgers; and

WHEREAS, Duward Inch loved 60s music and vintage cars, especially El Caminos; he enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's events; upon his retirement, he enjoyed visiting California and taking cruises with his wife; and

WHEREAS, Duward Inch was known for never meeting a stranger, for his booming voice, for his unbelievable joke-telling talent, and for his legendary 16th and 40th birthday pranks, which his friends both feared and celebrated; he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Duward Inch is survived by his wife, Linda; his children and their spouses, Rebecca (David) Pilger, John Casey (Pamela) Inch, and Joshua (Britt Bardo) Inch; and his grandchildren, Zachary Pilger, Nathaniel Pilger, Riley Inch, and Nova Rae Inch; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Duward Fredrick Inch and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Duward Inch as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
