SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Grant Andy Cobb of Moline, who passed
4away on January 2, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Grant Cobb was born to Grant and Goldie
6(Anderson) Cobb in Moline on March 15, 1925; he graduated from
7Moline High School in 1943 and then served in the U.S. Navy
8aboard LST-517 in the North Atlantic during the D-Day
9Invasion; he married Elizabeth Hintz Broksieck in Moline on
10August 12, 1967; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Grant Cobb was a mail carrier for the Moline Post
12Office, retiring in 1987; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Grant Cobb was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran
14Church, Moline, National Association of Letter Carriers Branch
15318, and East Moline American Legion Post #227 for 75 years;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Grant Cobb is survived by his wife, Elizabeth;
18his daughter, Lois Genz; his granddaughter, Kathy Genz Sotelo,
19his great-granddaughters, Meagan Kranich and Sarah Sotelo; and
20his great-great-grandson, Wyatt Kranich; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Grant Andy Cobb and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Grant Cobb as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
