AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1736

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1736, AS AMENDED, with reference to page and line numbers of House Amendment No. 1, as follows:

on page 9, by replacing line 10 with the following:

"materials, instruction in alternative formats, assistive technology, and"; and

on page 10, by replacing line 11 with the following:

"(F) employ gender stereotypes; or"; and

on page 12, by replacing lines 12 through 16 with the following:

"(C-5) Affirming discussion of disability and respecting peers with disabilities.

(D) Healthy relationships, including, but not limited to:

(i) affirming examples of diverse races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, disabilities, and cultures;"; and

on page 16, by replacing lines 17 through 23 with the following:

"(L) Self-advocacy skills for effective communication with parents or guardians, health and social service professionals, other trusted adults, and peers about sexual health and relationships.

(M) Skills to explore the roles that race, ethnicity, immigration status, religious beliefs, disability, sexual orientation, gender"; and

on page 17, immediately below line 21, by inserting the following:

"(E-5) Affirming discussion of disability and respecting peers with disabilities."; and

on page 17, by replacing line 26 with the following:

"(H) Consent and how to give and receive consent, including a discussion that includes, but is not limited to, all of the following:

(i) Setting appropriate physical boundaries with others.

(ii) Respecting the physical boundaries of others.

(iii) The right to refuse to engage in behaviors or activities that are uncomfortable or unsafe.

(iv) Dealing with unwanted physical contact.

(v) Helping a peer deal with unwanted physical contact."; and

on page 25, by replacing line 9 with the following:

"to provide alternative assignments."; and

on page 34, by replacing line 4 with the following:

"counselors, nurses, teachers, school social workers, and other school personnel who".
