AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1563

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1563 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force Act.
 
6    Section 5. The Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force.
7    (a) The Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force is created
8to study warehouse safety standards. The Task Force shall
9consist of the following members:
10        (1) 2 members of the House of Representatives,
11    appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives;
12        (2) 2 members of the House of Representatives,
13    appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of
14    Representatives;
15        (3) 2 members of the Senate, appointed by the
16    President of the Senate;

1        (4) 2 members of the Senate, appointed by the Minority
2    Leader of the Senate;
3        (5) one representative of an entity representing
4    retail marketers, appointed by the Governor;
5        (6) one representative of an entity representing
6    manufacturers, appointed by the Governor;
7        (7) one representative of an entity representing
8    mayors, appointed by the Governor;
9        (8) one representative of the American Federation of
10    Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, appointed
11    by the Governor;
12        (9) one representative of a labor union representing
13    warehouse workers, appointed by the Governor; and
14        (10) the Director of Labor or his or her designee, who
15    shall serve as the ex officio chair.
16    (b) The members of the Task Force shall serve without
17compensation.
18    (c) The Department of Labor shall provide administrative
19support to the Task Force.
 
20    Section 10. Reports. The Task Force must provide quarterly
21updates of its findings, discussions, and decisions to the
22Governor and the General Assembly. The Task Force shall submit
23a final report of its recommendations to the Governor and the
24General Assembly no later than January 1, 2025.

1    Section 90. Repeal. The Task Force is dissolved and this
2Act is repealed on January 1, 2026.
 
3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
4becoming law.".
