1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force Act.
 
6    Section 5. The Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force.
7    (a) The Warehouse Safety Standards Task Force is created
8to study warehouse safety standards. The Task Force shall
9consist of the following members:
10        (1) 2 members of the House of Representatives,
11    appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives;
12        (2) 2 members of the House of Representatives,
13    appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of
14    Representatives;
15        (3) 2 members of the Senate, appointed by the
16    President of the Senate;
17        (4) 2 members of the Senate, appointed by the Minority
18    Leader of the Senate;
19        (5) one representative of an entity representing
20    retail merchants, appointed by the Governor;
21        (6) one representative of an entity representing
22    manufacturers, appointed by the Governor;
23        (7) one representative of an entity representing

1    mayors, appointed by the Governor;
2        (8) one representative of the American Federation of
3    Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, appointed
4    by the Governor;
5        (9) one representative of a labor union representing
6    warehouse workers, appointed by the Governor;
7        (10) one representative of a worker advocacy
8    organization representing warehouse workers, appointed by
9    the Governor; and
10        (11) the Director of Labor or his or her designee, who
11    shall serve as the ex officio chair.
12    (b) The members of the Task Force shall serve without
13compensation.
14    (c) The Department of Labor shall provide administrative
15support to the Task Force.
 
16    Section 10. Reports. The Task Force must provide quarterly
17updates of its findings, discussions, and decisions to the
18Governor and the General Assembly. The Task Force shall submit
19a final report of its recommendations to the Governor and the
20General Assembly no later than January 1, 2025.
 
21    Section 90. Repeal. The Task Force is dissolved and this
22Act is repealed on January 1, 2026.
 
23    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
24becoming law.
