SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gregory "Greg" C. Poquet of Moline, who passed away on January 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Greg was born May 27, 1949 in Rock Island to Royal and Kathleen (Osler) Poquet; he married Karen Cone in Aledo on December 2, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Greg served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from John Deere Harvester in East Moline; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and never passed up a chance to go out to eat; and

WHEREAS, Greg is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Bryan Poquet (Traci Southard), and Spencer Poquet (Matt Speidel); grandchildren, James Speidel, Paige Southard, and Autumn Southard; sisters, Marsha (Floyd) Roberts and Sharon (Bill) Rottman; and

WHEREAS, Greg was preceded in death by his parents; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gregory "Greg" C. Poquet and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Greg Poquet as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
