AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 162

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 162 on page 4,
3immediately below line 1, by inserting the following:
4    "A policy subject to this subsection shall not impose a
5deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other cost-sharing
6requirement on the coverage provided; except that this sentence
7does not apply to coverage of diagnostic mammograms to the
8extent such coverage would disqualify a high-deductible health
9plan from eligibility for a health savings account pursuant to
10Section 223 of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 223)."; and
 
11on page 4, by replacing line 2 with the following:
12    "For purposes of this subsection: ,
13    "Diagnostic mammogram" means a mammogram obtained using
14diagnostic mammography.
15    "Diagnostic mammography" means a method of screening that
16is designed to evaluate an abnormality in a breast, including
17an abnormality seen or suspected on a screening mammogram or a

1subjective or objective abnormality otherwise detected in the
2breast.
3    "Low-dose low-dose mammography""; and
 
4on page 9, immediately below line 19, by inserting the
5following:
6    "A policy subject to this subsection shall not impose a
7deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other cost-sharing
8requirement on the coverage provided; except that this sentence
9does not apply to coverage of diagnostic mammograms to the
10extent such coverage would disqualify a high-deductible health
11plan from eligibility for a health savings account pursuant to
12Section 223 of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 223)."; and
 
13on page 9, by replacing line 20 with the following:
14    "For purposes of this subsection: ,

4by replacing line 18 on page 18 through line 2 on page 19 with
5the following:
6    For purposes of this Section: ,
7    "Diagnostic mammogram" means a mammogram obtained using
8diagnostic mammography.
9    "Diagnostic mammography" means a method of screening that
10is designed to evaluate an abnormality in a breast, including
11an abnormality seen or suspected on a screening mammogram or a
12subjective or objective abnormality otherwise detected in the
13breast.
14    "Low-dose low-dose mammography" means the x-ray
15examination of the breast using equipment dedicated
16specifically for mammography, including the x-ray tube,
17filter, compression device, and image receptor, with radiation
18exposure delivery of less than 1 rad per breast for 2 views of
19an average size breast. The term also includes digital
20mammography and includes breast tomosynthesis.
21    "Breast As used in this Section, the term "breast
22tomosynthesis" means a radiologic procedure that involves the
23acquisition of projection images over the stationary breast to
24produce cross-sectional digital three-dimensional images of
25the breast."; and

1on page 21, line 20, by deleting "and by adding Section 95";
2and
 
3on page 28, immediately below line 6, by inserting the
4following:
5"The Department shall not impose a deductible, coinsurance,
6copayment, or any other cost-sharing requirement on the
7coverage provided under this paragraph; except that this
8sentence does not apply to coverage of diagnostic mammograms to
9the extent such coverage would disqualify a high-deductible
10health plan from eligibility for a health savings account
11pursuant to Section 223 of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C.
12223)."; and
 
13on page 28, by replacing lines 10 through 21 with the
14following:

18diagnostic mammography.
