| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to recognize Early Walker and the positive | 4 | | contributions that he has made to the residents of Cook County; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Earley Walker is the owner of W&W Towing of Cook | 7 | | County; he built his company from scratch with just one used | 8 | | tow truck, and after ten years, he has a fleet of trucks and is | 9 | | renowned for his generosity to the poor and less fortunate; and | 10 | | WHEREAS, Earley Walker has been on the front line of | 11 | | helping some of the most unfortunate victims of gun violence | 12 | | throughout the Chicago metropolitan area; he has provided | 13 | | children who have lost their parents to gun violence with | 14 | | extravagant Christmas shopping sprees; it is during these | 15 | | difficult times that he has brought numerous smiles to the | 16 | | faces of children in an attempt to offset the pain associated | 17 | | with these senseless tragedies; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Earley Walker has provided over 25,000 turkeys to | 19 | | families who have struggled to provide themselves with adequate | 20 | | food for Thanksgiving; in addition, he recently took ten | 21 | | families to a local Walmart and allowed them to spend up to | 22 | | $200.00 on groceries for the Thanksgiving holiday; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, In times of national crisis, Earley Walker rose to | 2 | | the occasion and responded; during the initial announcement of | 3 | | the Flint, Michigan water crisis, he purchased over 30,000 | 4 | | bottles of water and personally transported them to the | 5 | | affected areas of Flint; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, After the horrific hurricane hit Houston, Texas, | 7 | | Earley Walker partnered with suburban municipalities in the | 8 | | collection of water, non-perishable items, and clothing; he | 9 | | then traveled to the most damaged areas of Houston and | 10 | | personally delivered the items; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Early Walker provided a seventeen-year-old girl | 12 | | stricken with cancer the opportunity to attend her senior prom; | 13 | | the young girl had a lasting wish while hospitalized to return | 14 | | to her high school and attend the traditional event, and he | 15 | | provided all her prom needs, including her dress, limousine, | 16 | | and make-up and hair stylist, free of charge; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Early Walker has partnered with police agencies | 18 | | and used his own money to fund a cash reward for the capture of | 19 | | criminals who have gunned down innocent victims; therefore, be | 20 | | it

| 1 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 2 | | we recognize Early Walker and the positive contributions that | 3 | | he has made to the residents of Cook County; and be it further
| 4 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 5 | | presented to Earley Walker as a symbol of our respect and | 6 | | esteem.
