| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ronald L. "Ron" Modrich of Huntley, who | 4 | | passed away on August 4, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ron Modrich was born in Chicago to Jack and Martha | 6 | | (Ides) Modrich on February 17, 1939; he served in the U.S. Air | 7 | | Force as a staff sergeant; he married Judy Hubbard at St. | 8 | | Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake on August 22, 1964; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ron Modrich started the first Crystal Lake | 11 | | Ambulance Service in 1971 and served as the first chief, | 12 | | holding the distinction of being one of the first EMTs in | 13 | | Illinois; he opened Ron's Tire and Service Station in November | 14 | | of 1977 in Crystal Lake, which is still operated by his son; | 15 | | and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ron Modrich loved to watch his son, Rick, race at | 17 | | the Geneva Raceway, and soon became part of the action when he | 18 | | brought his tow truck to the track, becoming known as "Wrecker | 19 | | Ron"; his greatest joy was his family, especially watching his | 20 | | grandchildren in their various sporting events and activities | 21 | | and visiting his daughter and family in Florida; his other | 22 | | interests included the selling of race track safety |

| 1 | | communication equipment to the race teams, and the building, | 2 | | repairing, and selling of computers, as well as installing | 3 | | complete office systems; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Ron Modrich was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann | 5 | | Seton Parish in Crystal Lake and the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton | 6 | | Knights of Columbus Council #10678; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ron Modrich was preceded in death by his parents; | 8 | | his sister, Shirley; and his brother-in-law, Robert Richards; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ron Modrich is survived by his wife, Judy; his | 11 | | daughter, Janice (Brad) Price; his son, Rick (Lisa) Modrich; | 12 | | his grandchildren, Ashley (Dominick) Lucarelli, Dylan Sowers, | 13 | | and Ben and Cole Modrich; his sister, Marty Richards; and his | 14 | | brothers, Eugene, twin brother Robert (Nancy), and Dennis; | 15 | | therefore, be it
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 18 | | Ronald L. "Ron" Modrich, and extend our sincere condolences to | 19 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 20 | | further
