| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William H. Long of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on June 27, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Long was born in Bureau to Raymond and | 6 | | Bernice Streed Long on August 16, 1937; he served in the U.S. | 7 | | Army Reserve and married Shirley J. Canute in Rock Island on | 8 | | November 9, 1957; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, William Long was employed at Reynolds | 10 | | Manufacturing for 10 years; he then worked at Quad City | 11 | | Engineering in Rock Island until his retirement in 2005; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, William Long was an active member of the Fifteenth | 13 | | Avenue Christian Church in Rock Island, where he sang in the | 14 | | choir; he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and fast pitch | 15 | | girls softball; his favorite times were spent with family and | 16 | | at church activities; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, William Long was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his brothers, Kenneth and Robert Long; and his sisters, Betty | 19 | | Cutler and Ruth Long Allen; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, William Long is survived by his wife, Shirley; his |

| 1 | | children, Terry (Joel) Ambrozi, Anthony "Tony" Long, and Tammy | 2 | | (Ron) Mutka; his grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Kapple, Kyle | 3 | | (Chelsea) Ambrozi, Taylor Ambrozi, Daniel Long, Steven Long, | 4 | | Nikki Hinerichsen, Jessica Long, Destine Ellis, Daltin | 5 | | Hartman, Meaghan (Justin) Collins, and Eric (Sarah) Mutka; 11 | 6 | | great-grandchildren; his brothers, Don (Donna) and Raymond | 7 | | Long; his numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family; and | 8 | | close family friends, Aran and Jeff Reddig, and their daughter, | 9 | | Jena; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | William H. Long, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
