| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John L. Rogers of Godfrey, who passed | 4 | | away on May 1, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Rogers was born in Monmouth to John B. and | 6 | | Nona (Lee) Rogers on July 29, 1941; he graduated from Alexis | 7 | | High School in 1959; he attended Notre Dame University and | 8 | | graduated from Benedictine College in Atchinson, Kansas with | 9 | | his bachelor of science degree in 1964; he earned his master's | 10 | | degree from Western Illinois University and completed | 11 | | post-graduate work at Southern Illinois University | 12 | | Edwardsville; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, John Rogers was a teacher, coach, and assistant | 14 | | principal at Marquette Catholic High School for many years; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, John Rogers was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic | 16 | | Church in Godfrey; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, John Rogers was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | his sister, Nell Ann Rogers; his mother and father-in-law; his | 19 | | brother-in-law; his sister-in-law; and his nephew; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, John Rogers is survived by his wife, Katherine; |

| 1 | | his son, John G. (Whitney) Rogers; his grandchild, Addison; his | 2 | | brother, Charles A. Rogers; his brothers-in-law, Ron Going and | 3 | | Robert (Sharon) Going; his sister-in-law, Sharon Going; his | 4 | | nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Seamus; therefore, be | 5 | | it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | John L. Rogers and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
