SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of JoAnn M. Zotti of Granite City, who
4passed away on March 10, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, JoAnn Zotti was born in Granite City to Andrew C.
6and Vera H. (Timmons) Carey on April 29, 1928; she married John
7D. Zotti at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Mitchell on
8November 22, 1947; and
 
9    WHEREAS, JoAnn Zotti was a member of Holy Family Catholic
10Church, where she was a part of the Holy Family Quilters and
11helped provide funeral luncheons through the years; she also
12enjoyed the H.O.P.E. widow's luncheons and her many park
13district trips with Babe and Sue Champion; and
 
14    WHEREAS, JoAnn Zotti was a talented quilter, cook, and
15baker, blending her Irish with her husband John's Italian
16traditions; music was always playing in her home, usually Tom
17Jones, Andre Rieu, or Irish jigs; she had a special love for
18her father and grandmother and cherished her children,
19grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, JoAnn Zotti was preceded in death by her parents;
21her husband, John; and her sister, Jean Elmore; and

1    WHEREAS, JoAnn Zotti is survived by her sons, Laird A.
2"Larry" (Jean) Zotti and Timothy J. Zotti; her daughter, Mary
3Jean Collett; her former son-in-law, Scott Collett; her
4grandchildren, Dena (Chris) Loeh, Nick Zotti, Jolene Zotti,
5Josie Collett, Amanda Zotti, and Lauren Collett; four
6great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10JoAnn M. Zotti, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of JoAnn Zotti as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
