SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Morrissey Sr. of Libertyville, who passed away on August 21, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey was born on December 7, 1942 and resided in North Chicago until moving to Libertyville in 1987 with his family; he graduated from North Chicago High School in 1960 and married Mary Alice Salata; and

WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey worked as a route salesman at Pepsi Cola General Bottlers in Gurnee, retiring after 42 years; he was affectionately known to those on his route as "Whitey"; and

WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey took great pride in his house, meticulous care of his cars, and was an avid sports fan; he loved the Chicago Cubs and was awarded the honor of throwing out the 1st pitch at one of their games; he was also a Corvette owner and enjoyed polishing them to a mirror-like finish; and

WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey was preceded in death by his father, Edward "Babe" Morrissey Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Bob Morrissey is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice; his children, Maureen Morrissey, Robert (Adelah) Morrissey Jr., and Kristin (Matthew) Graham; his grandchildren, Matthew and Marcus Graham and Chloe Morrissey; his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Morrissey; his brother, Edward (Mary Alice) Morrissey; his brother-in-law, Gerard Salata; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; extended family, Chad and Leah Shoman; and lifelong friends, Bob Miller and Tommy Koper; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert L. "Bob" Morrissey Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Morrissey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
