| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jeanette S. Broughton of Woodstock, who | 4 | | passed away on December 20, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Broughton was born in Chicago to Richard | 6 | | and Arlene (Bober) Skiera on July 9, 1947; she graduated from | 7 | | the University of Illinois in Chicago with a degree in | 8 | | psychology and married Gordon Broughton in Norwood Park on | 9 | | December 8, 1973; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Broughton worked at the University of | 11 | | Illinois in Chicago as a Credentials Analyst and then for a | 12 | | time as a Lab Technician; she went on to become a police | 13 | | officer for the City of Woodstock, and then a school bus driver | 14 | | for District 200; she later worked part-time at Osco; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Broughton was active for over 25 years | 16 | | with the McHenry County Home and Community Education | 17 | | organization, serving as a board member for over 10 years; she | 18 | | was an avid quilter and enjoyed riding on motorcycles with her | 19 | | husband; she loved living in the country, farming and raising | 20 | | animals; she was a devout Catholic and served for many years in | 21 | | the children's ministry; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Broughton was preceded in death by her | 2 | | parents; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Broughton is survived by her husband of | 4 | | 43 years, Gordon; her children, Allen (Chandra) Broughton, | 5 | | Kathleen Broughton, Daniel Broughton, and Edward Broughton; | 6 | | her grandchildren, Vincent and Vivian; her siblings, Dorothy | 7 | | Skiera, Lois (Michael) Zucek, Richard Skiera, Arlene (Ted) | 8 | | Wiskow, and William (Kathy) Skiera; and several nieces, | 9 | | nephews, and very dear friends; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Jeanette S. Broughton, and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 14 | | further
