2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2046 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by
5adding Section 507GGG as follows:
6    (35 ILCS 5/507GGG new)
7    Sec. 507GGG. State Police Memorial checkoff.
8    (a) For taxable years ending on or after December 31, 2017,
9the Department must print on its standard individual income tax
10form a provision (i) indicating that if the taxpayer wishes to
11contribute to the Criminal Justice Information Projects Fund,
12as authorized by this amendatory Act of the 100th General
13Assembly, he or she may do so by stating the amount of the
14contribution (not less than $1) on the return and (ii) stating
15that the contribution will reduce the taxpayer's refund or
16increase the amount of payment to accompany the return. Failure

1to remit any amount of increased payment shall reduce the
2contribution accordingly. This Section does not apply to any
3amended return.
4(b) Moneys deposited into the Criminal Justice Information
5Projects Fund under this Section shall be distributed equally,
6as soon as practical but at least on a monthly basis, to the
7Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Fund, the Police Memorial
8Committee Fund, and the Illinois State Police Memorial Fund.
9Moneys transferred to the funds shall be used, subject to
10appropriation, to fund grants for building and maintaining
11memorials and parks; holding annual memorial commemorations;
12giving scholarships to children of officers killed or
13catastrophically injured in the line of duty, or those
14interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement; and
15providing financial assistance to police officers and their
16families when a police officer is killed or injured in the line
17of duty.".
