HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dr. 
4Robert B. Donaldson of Hazel Crest, who passed away on December 
529, 2018; and
  
 
  
6    WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson retired from Governors State 
7University after 34 years, where he served as a professor in 
8the College of Business and Public Administration and the 
9Director of the Master of Public Administration Program and the 
10Master Thesis Projects and Practicum; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson was elected to the Board of Trustees 
12for the Village of  Hazel Crest in 1989; in 2005, he was elected 
13Mayor of Hazel Crest; he was reelected in 2009; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson was involved in many civic and 
15community organizations and boards throughout the City of 
16Chicago and the southern suburbs; he was a member of the Public 
17Building Commission of Chicago and the Omega Psi Phi 
18Fraternity; he served as President of the South Suburban Mayors 
19and Managers Association from 2012 until 2013; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Dr. Donaldson is survived by his wife, Barbara; 
21his daughter, Robyn; and his other family members; therefore,

2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
3HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4mourn the passing of Dr. Robert B. Donaldson and extend our 
5sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
6and loved him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Dr. Donaldson as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
