2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Nichols
Paint and Fab in | ||||||
4 | Watseka on the rapid growth of their business and on the | ||||||
5 | success of their
television show "Wrench'd"; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Justin Nichols, the founder of Nichols Paint and | ||||||
7 | Fab, was born and raised in Watseka
and is continuing his | ||||||
8 | father's love of fast cars and flashy paint jobs; he has been | ||||||
9 | building custom
hot rods, trucks, and motorcycles since the age | ||||||
10 | of seven; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, The work of the Nichols Paint and Fab team, | ||||||
12 | consisting of Maegan Ashline, Greg
Huizenga, Dave Webster, Kyle | ||||||
13 | Bertsch, and Nick Roberts, has been internationally recognized
| ||||||
14 | and showcased in publications such as Classic Truck, Street | ||||||
15 | Rodder, American Bagger, Built Not
Bought, and many others; in | ||||||
16 | addition, the team has won numerous awards at national and
| ||||||
17 | international competitions; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, An entertainment development professional saw a | ||||||
19 | custom motorcycle from Nichols
Paint and Fab on the cover of a | ||||||
20 | magazine, and the idea for a television show began; soon after,
| ||||||
21 | crews from the Velocity channel's parent company, Discovery, | ||||||
22 | Inc., descended upon Watseka; and |

1 | WHEREAS, Since the premiere of "Wrench'd" on May 15, 2018, | ||||||
2 | Justin Nichols' shop has received over 200 orders
for custom | ||||||
3 | builds, ratings are twice as high as any other show on | ||||||
4 | Velocity, and the network has
already begun shooting season | ||||||
5 | two; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, The Nichols team has already started the | ||||||
7 | construction of a large expansion to
accommodate the influx of | ||||||
8 | orders and attention coming from the television show; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Visitors from all over the country stop by the | ||||||
10 | shop in Watseka to buy shirts, meet
the crew, and see where the | ||||||
11 | magic happens; not only is the attention great for business, it | ||||||
12 | is
beneficial for the entirety of Watseka, a town of 5,000 now | ||||||
13 | receiving national attention; therefore, be it
| ||||||
14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
15 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
16 | congratulate Justin Nichols and the team of Nichols Paint
and | ||||||
17 | Fab on their successes in business and television, and we wish | ||||||
18 | them continued growth in
the future; and be it further | ||||||
19 | RESOLVED, That we hold them up as an example of what can be | ||||||
20 | done with hard work and
dedication to a craft, and we thank | ||||||
21 | them for their commitment to their community; and be it
