HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Arnold Faber on receiving the 2018 Rural Physician of Excellence Award from the Illinois Rural Health Association; and

WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural settings; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber was raised in the small town of LaMoille, where he was inspired by both his family and the rural setting to become a rural physician; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 1982 and then completed his Family Practice residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford; and

WHEREAS, In 1985, Dr. Faber joined the Princeton Family Physicians Clinic (Perry Memorial Family Health); through the years, he has provided direct service to patients in small towns throughout the region such as Henry, Manlius, Walnut, and Princeton, ensuring quality and convenient healthcare for all; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber is devoted to his community, providing free medical services at the Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic in Princeton; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber served on the board of directors for the Marshall Putnam Health Department and currently serves as chair of the Department of Medicine at Perry Memorial Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber has served as such a great role model for rural practice that several medical students have returned to Perry Memorial Hospital to serve rural communities; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber's medical career has not been limited to family practice; in addition to serving elderly patients in area nursing homes, he has been an active member of the Perry Memorial Medical Department for years, working in the ER unit and the Obstetrics Unit, where he was often on call 24/7 to ensure his patients needs were always met; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber's kind bedside manner and sense of humor have often helped put his patients at ease in the most stressful of circumstances; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Faber's commitment to healthcare has made a huge difference to patients in the north central Illinois region of our State; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. Arnold Faber on receiving the 2018 Rural Physician of Excellence Award, and we commend him for his years of selfless service and dedication to his patients; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Faber as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
