| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dr. Arnold Faber on | 4 | | receiving the 2018 Rural Physician of Excellence Award from the | 5 | | Illinois Rural Health Association; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, One of the biggest healthcare challenges across | 7 | | our nation is the shortage of physicians who practice in rural | 8 | | settings; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber was raised in the small town of | 10 | | LaMoille, where he was inspired by both his family and the | 11 | | rural setting to become a rural physician; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber graduated from Rush Medical College in | 13 | | Chicago in 1982 and then completed his Family Practice | 14 | | residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at | 15 | | Rockford; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, In 1985, Dr. Faber joined the Princeton Family | 17 | | Physicians Clinic (Perry Memorial Family Health); through the | 18 | | years, he has provided direct service to patients in small | 19 | | towns throughout the region such as Henry, Manlius, Walnut, and | 20 | | Princeton, ensuring quality and convenient healthcare for all; | 21 | | and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber is devoted to his community, providing | 2 | | free medical services at the Bureau County Health and Wellness | 3 | | Clinic in Princeton; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber served on the board of directors for the | 5 | | Marshall Putnam Health Department and currently serves as chair | 6 | | of the Department of Medicine at Perry Memorial Hospital; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber has served as such a great role model | 8 | | for rural practice that several medical students have returned | 9 | | to Perry Memorial Hospital to serve rural communities; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber's medical career has not been limited to | 11 | | family practice; in addition to serving elderly patients in | 12 | | area nursing homes, he has been an active member of the Perry | 13 | | Memorial Medical Department for years, working in the ER unit | 14 | | and the Obstetrics Unit, where he was often on call 24/7 to | 15 | | ensure his patients needs were always met; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber's kind bedside manner and sense of humor | 17 | | have often helped put his patients at ease in the most | 18 | | stressful of circumstances; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Faber's commitment to healthcare has made a | 20 | | huge difference to patients in the north central Illinois |

| 1 | | region of our State; therefore, be it
| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 3 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 4 | | congratulate Dr. Arnold Faber on receiving the 2018 Rural | 5 | | Physician of Excellence Award, and we commend him for his years | 6 | | of selfless service and dedication to his patients; and be it | 7 | | further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to Dr. Faber as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
