Amends the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act. Provides that a political subdivision may waive the public hearing, evaluation procedure, and selection procedure for the selection of architectural, engineering, or land surveying services in an emergency situation for a project that is expected to cost less than $50,000 (currently, $25,000). Provides that this amount shall be increased annually by a percentage equal to the annual unadjusted percentage increase, if any, as determined by the consumer price index-u.

5 | | Selection Act is amended by changing Section 8 as follows:

7 | | Sec. 8. Waiver of competition. A political subdivision may |

requirements of Sections 4, 5, and 6 if it |
9 | | determines, by resolution, that an
emergency situation exists |
10 | | and a firm must be selected in an expeditious
manner, or the |
11 | | cost of architectural, engineering, and land surveying
|
12 | | services for the project is expected to
be less than $50,000 |
13 | | $25,000 . This amount shall be increased annually by a |

17 | | means the index published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of |

20 | | consumers, United States city average, all items, 1982-84=100. |
