| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 7-301 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (605 ILCS 5/7-301) (from Ch. 121, par. 7-301)

| 7 | | Sec. 7-301.
|
| 8 | | In order to properly plan the utilization of motor fuel tax |
| 9 | | funds each
municipality of over 5,000 population, but less than |
| 10 | | 1,000,000 population, shall be required to develop and
update a |
| 11 | | 20 year long-range highway transportation plan for a period not |
| 12 | | to exceed 20 years. The plan shall
contain an estimate of |
| 13 | | revenues which will become available during that
period and a |
| 14 | | statement of intention with respect to the construction,
|
| 15 | | maintenance, and other related work to be done insofar as it is |
| 16 | | possible to
make such estimates. In addition, the long-range |
| 17 | | plan shall show the
location of existing municipal streets and |
| 18 | | the general corridors of future
highways, the projected future |
| 19 | | traffic usage on each street for the duration of the plan a 20 |
| 20 | | year
period, a tabulation showing the design standards and the |
| 21 | | geometric
features associated with different levels of traffic |
| 22 | | usage, and a listing
of the major improvements anticipated with |
| 23 | | the within 5 years of the date of each
