| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph Peter "Jose" Morales of Alton, who | 4 | | passed away on January 5, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Morales was born in Alton to Jose and | 6 | | Urvana (Macias) Morales on April 23, 1941; he served in the | 7 | | United States Army and married Linda Bush in Alton on June 14, | 8 | | 1969; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Morales retired in 1995 from the Illinois | 10 | | American Water Company after 20 years of service; he also | 11 | | founded Morales Taco and was the owner and operator of the Los | 12 | | Tres Amigos restaurants; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Morales attended church at Ss. Peter & Paul | 14 | | Proto-Cathedral Church; he was a member of VFW Post 1308, the | 15 | | American Legion, the Alton Eagles, and the Mexican Honorary | 16 | | Commission; he was an avid fast pitch softball player, known | 17 | | for his "mystery pitch"; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Morales was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents; his grandson, Josh Corwin; his brothers, Raymond and | 20 | | Michael Morales; and his sisters, Lolly Voyles, and Angie | 21 | | Hagen; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Morales is survived by his wife, Linda; his | 2 | | daughters, Dawn (Keith) Treece, Melinda (Shawn) Wilkinson, and | 3 | | Urvana (Steve Humiston); his sons, Jeff Morales (Anita Murphy), | 4 | | and Jose Morales; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; | 5 | | his brother, Mario Morales; and his sister, Rose Brewer; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Joseph Peter "Jose" Morales, and extend our sincere condolences | 10 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 11 | | it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Joseph Morales as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
