| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Franklin M. Pease of Crystal Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on November 20, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was born in Worcester, | 6 | | Massachusetts to Charles and Marjorie (Pixley) Pease on June | 7 | | 11, 1923; he grew up in West Springfield, Massachusetts and | 8 | | graduated from West Springfield Massachusetts High School in | 9 | | 1941; he graduated from the University of Illinois | 10 | | Urbana-Champaign in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in | 11 | | Electrical Engineering; he married Norma Jane Koehler at | 12 | | Calvary Lutheran Church in Chicago on January 29, 1955, and in | 13 | | 1956, he and Norma moved to Crystal Lake; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease joined the United States Navy on | 15 | | January 4, 1942; he served for six years during World War II as | 16 | | an Electrician's Mate, First Class on the USS Beaver, a | 17 | | submarine tender which was assigned to both the Asiatic-Pacific | 18 | | Theater and the European-African-Middle East Theaters, along | 19 | | with the USS Cree, a fleet-ocean tug, which was assigned to the | 20 | | Asiatic-Pacific Theater and American Theater; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was employed by Commonwealth | 22 | | Edison Co. for more than 34 years in many capacities, retiring |

| 1 | | as a rates administrator; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was a member of St. Paul's United | 3 | | Church of Christ in Crystal Lake, American Legion Post 171 of | 4 | | Crystal Lake, and the Masons, Nunda Lodge No. 169 in Crystal | 5 | | Lake; and | 6 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease enjoyed golf, amateur radio, | 7 | | traveling with his wife throughout the United States, Canada, | 8 | | and Europe, singing, telling stories, and spending time with | 9 | | his family; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease was preceded in death by his wife, | 11 | | Norma; his parents; his brother, Charles; and his son, Michael | 12 | | Pease; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Franklin Pease is survived by his brother, Donald | 14 | | (Audrey) Clark; his daughter, Kathleen Pease; his | 15 | | daughter-in-law, Nicci Pease; his son, Thomas (Dawn) Pease; his | 16 | | daughter, Susan (Tom) Kirstein; his grandchildren, Aurora | 17 | | (Sean), Jeremy, Kerri, Jacob, Zoe, and Samantha; and his | 18 | | great-grandchild, Aiden Michael; therefore, be it
