SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gilbert A. Huber of Moline, who passed
4away on October 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gilbert Huber was born in Hillsboro to Carl
6Gilbert and Kathleen (Slagel) Huber on October 6, 1942; he
7served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he
8then served in the Army National Guard in Galva, and in the
9Army Reserve in Rock Island and Davenport, Iowa; he married
10Patricia Young, and later, Carol Hull in Rock Island on
11December 24, 1986; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gilbert Huber was a machinist at the Rock Island
13Arsenal, where he also was a reserve police officer; he worked
14security at several places, including Stateville Penitentiary
15and for 17 years at the iWireless Center; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gilbert Huber was honored to travel with the Honor
17Flight to Washington, D.C.; he enjoyed genealogy and working
18with computers; he was a member of the Honda Goldwing Club; he
19loved his many dogs and cats over the years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Gilbert Huber was preceded in death by his
21parents; and

1    WHEREAS, Gilbert Huber is survived by his wife, Carol; his
2children, Deborah Huber, Jennifer (Steven) Meana, and Jay
3(Carolyn) Huber; his stepchildren, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Brands,
4Brenda (John) Nelson, and Jeremy Hull; five grandchildren;
5eight step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four
6step-great-grandchildren; his sister, Karen (Ron) Masanz; and
7his brother, Steven (Phyllis) Huber; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Gilbert A. Huber, and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Gilbert Huber as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
