| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph F. Cantore, who passed away on | 4 | | April 5, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was born to Frank P. and Elizabeth | 6 | | Cantore in 1931; he became a carpenter by trade and learned the | 7 | | basics of the business by his father's side; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore served in the 1st Marine Division | 9 | | during the Korean War; he came home to continue and expand his | 10 | | father's business, first moving houses which were in the way of | 11 | | the construction of the Eisenhower Expressway; he went on to | 12 | | become a general contractor of industrial, commercial, and | 13 | | multi-family residential properties and the owner of a | 14 | | coin-operated laundry route in the Chicagoland area; Cantore | 15 | | and Company has been in continuous operation since 1890; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore donated generously to many | 17 | | charities including those benefitting children, the elderly, | 18 | | people with disabilities, people suffering from cancer, | 19 | | Alzheimer's disease, and a host of other illnesses; he was also | 20 | | an ardent supporter of many veterans organizations; he had a | 21 | | true passion for giving back and helping others in need; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was involved in and supported | 2 | | numerous organizations, including Visitation Catholic Church, | 3 | | Elmhurst; the First Marine Division Association; the Veterans | 4 | | of Foreign Wars; the American Legion; the Antique Automobile | 5 | | Association of America;
the Classic Car Club of America; | 6 | | Vintage Sports Car Club; the Mercedes-Benz Club of America; the | 7 | | Delahaye Automobile Club; the Bugatti Automobile Club; | 8 | | Gullwing Group International; and the A.T.A.; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was preceded in death by his | 10 | | parents and his brother, Robert Lupella; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Cantore was the beloved husband of 58 years | 12 | | of Angela (Lupella); the loving father of Joseph F. III | 13 | | (Jaclyn) Cantore; the dear grandfather of Joseph; the fond | 14 | | brother-in-law of Michelle (Robin) James; and the uncle of | 15 | | Courtney (Eric) Beall, Jessica (Joseph) Jackson, Teresa | 16 | | (Donald) Farnsworth, and Robert (Julie) Lupella; therefore, be | 17 | | it
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 20 | | Joseph F. Cantore, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 21 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 22 | | further
