| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Philip J. Carman of Milan, who passed | 4 | | away on December 6, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Philip Carman was born on March 2, 1929 in | 6 | | Petersburg; his parents were James and Kathryn Carman; he | 7 | | married Helen Holtan in November of 1951; he later married | 8 | | Darlene Wicht on February 26, 1954, and she preceded him in | 9 | | death; he married Joan VanBrocklin on January 24, 1964, and she | 10 | | preceded him in death; he later married Doris Jean Pullin on | 11 | | May 29, 1976; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Philip Carman graduated from Rock Island High | 13 | | School in 1947; he was employed at the former Farmall Works in | 14 | | Rock Island for 27 years; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Philip Carman served his country as a member of | 16 | | the United States Army; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Philip Carman was a member of Milan American | 18 | | Legion Post 569, the Rock Island Fraternal Order of Eagles, and | 19 | | Rock Island County 40 & 8; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Philip Carman was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | parents; his son, Norman VanBrocklin; his sisters, Bernice | 2 | | Williamson, Irene Ortman, and Helen Owens; and his brother, | 3 | | Harris Carman; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Philip Carman is survived by his children, Randy | 5 | | Carman, Teri (Kenny) Sutherland, Bob (Karen) VanBrocklin, and | 6 | | Norva (Kenny) DeWeise; his best friend, Julie Mears; his | 7 | | grandchildren, Madell, John, Eleina, Jason, Heather, Toni, | 8 | | Molly, Samantha, Francis, Ching, and Jayar; his | 9 | | great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hunter, Eli, Haylie, Violet, | 10 | | John, Jr., Francine, Zian, Ziv, Zyjan, and Zhamea; his niece, | 11 | | Lori (Montey) Brown; his nephew, Steve Carman; and his | 12 | | great-nephew, Nick Vanhoorebeck; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 15 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Philip J. Carman; and | 16 | | be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Philip Carman as an expression of | 19 | | our sympathy.
