| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dennis L. Marion of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on September 7, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion was born on August 19, 1947 in | 6 | | Hedrick, Iowa; his parents were Harold and Wilma (nee Ackley) | 7 | | Marion; he married Laura Morford on September 6, 1967 in | 8 | | Moline; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion served his country as a member of | 10 | | the United States Army for 3 years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion retired as a Senior Internal | 12 | | Consultant for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline in | 13 | | 2001 after many years of service; during his years with the | 14 | | company, he worked as a production welder and union official; | 15 | | after retiring, he owned and operated Marion & Associates, a | 16 | | labor management consulting firm, and Marion Motor Sports; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion was a member of United Automobile | 18 | | Workers Local 865; he was a past president and board member of | 19 | | the ILLOWA chapter of the Association for Quality and | 20 | | Participation and CEO of the Quad City Labor Management | 21 | | Council; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion enjoyed racing stock cars and | 2 | | go-carts and spending time with his family, especially his | 3 | | grandchildren; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion was preceded in death by his parents | 5 | | and his sister, Denise McCubbin; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Dennis Marion is survived by his wife, Laura; his | 7 | | children and their spouses, Shannon and Guy Morse, Nicole and | 8 | | Mike Melody, and Dennis Marion; his grandchildren, Dalton and | 9 | | Elizabeth Morse, Mackenzie and Hunter Melody, and Dennis | 10 | | Zachary and Riley Marion; and his sister and brother-in-law, | 11 | | Diana and Wiley Graham; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 14 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Dennis L. Marion; and | 15 | | be it further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Dennis Marion as an expression of | 18 | | our sympathy.
