AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 655

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 655 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Video Gaming Act is amended by changing
5Section 30 as follows:
 
6    (230 ILCS 40/30)
7    Sec. 30. Multiple types of licenses prohibited. A video
8gaming terminal manufacturer may not be licensed as a video
9gaming terminal operator or own, manage, or control a licensed
10establishment, licensed truck stop establishment, licensed
11fraternal establishment, or licensed veterans establishment,
12and shall be licensed to sell only to persons having a valid
13distributor's license or, if the manufacturer also holds a
14valid distributor's license, to sell, distribute, lease, or
15market to persons having a valid terminal operator's license. A
16video gaming terminal distributor may not be licensed as a

1video gaming terminal operator or own, manage, or control a
2licensed establishment, licensed truck stop establishment,
3licensed fraternal establishment, or licensed veterans
4establishment, and shall only contract with a licensed terminal
5operator. A video gaming terminal operator may not be licensed
6as a video gaming terminal manufacturer or distributor or own,
7manage, or control a licensed establishment, licensed truck
8stop establishment, licensed fraternal establishment, or
9licensed veterans establishment, and shall be licensed only to
10contract with licensed distributors and licensed
11establishments, licensed truck stop establishments, licensed
12fraternal establishments, and licensed veterans
13establishments. An owner or manager of a licensed
14establishment, licensed truck stop establishment, licensed
15fraternal establishment, or licensed veterans establishment
16may not be licensed as a video gaming terminal manufacturer,
17distributor, or operator, and shall only contract with a
18licensed operator to place and service this equipment.
19Notwithstanding the provisions of this Section, a video gaming
20terminal operator may own, manage, or control a licensed
21establishment or licensed truck stop establishment as long as
22the video gaming terminal operator does not place video gaming
23terminals he or she owns, services, and maintains within that
24licensed establishment or licensed truck stop establishment
25and he or she has owned or controlled the licensed
26establishment or truck stop establishment continuously since
