| 4 | | "Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by adding |

| 7 | | Sec. 12-6.2-5. Extortion. |
| 8 | | (a) A person commits extortion when he or she knowingly |
| 9 | | obtains, or
causes to be obtained, property, services, |
| 10 | | something of value, advantage or immunity,
from another person, |
| 11 | | with that person's consent, when the consent is induced by |
| 12 | | wrongful use of the threat of fear or actual or
threatened |
| 13 | | force, violence, or under color of official right. |
| 14 | | (b) Sentence. Extortion is a Class 3 felony.".
