| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Troy Randall Ward of Glen Carbon, who | 4 | | passed away on June 3, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Troy Ward was born on September 21, 1947 in | 6 | | Hendersonville, North Carolina; his parents were Juthron and | 7 | | Ginny (nee Campbell) Ward; he married Cathy Wayant on June 10, | 8 | | 1972 in Greensboro, North Carolina; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Troy Ward was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served | 10 | | his country as a member of the United States Army; he was the | 11 | | recipient of 2 Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service | 12 | | Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam | 13 | | Campaign Medal, and the Army Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge | 14 | | with M-14 Qualification Attachment Bar for his meritorious | 15 | | service; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Troy Ward was employed as the plant manager of | 17 | | A.O. Smith in Granite City for many years; he also retired from | 18 | | the quality control department of the Nike Corporation in St. | 19 | | Louis, Missouri; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Troy Ward was a dedicated member of the Glen | 21 | | Carbon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2222; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Troy Ward enjoyed golfing, cooking, and spending | 2 | | time with his family, especially his 8 grandchildren; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Troy Ward is survived by his loving wife of 42 | 4 | | years, Cathy Ward; 4 children, Mary (Vince) Hughes, Kelly | 5 | | Wesley, Brandon Ward, and Jon Ward; 8 grandchildren, Courtney | 6 | | Lybarger, Taylor Lybarger, Brooke Wesley, Alison Wesley, Ellie | 7 | | Hughes, Grace Hughes, Jackson Ward, and Lena Ward; a sister, | 8 | | Karen Barker; 2 brothers, David Ward and Kevin (Daryl) Ward; | 9 | | and many extended family members and friends; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 12 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Troy Randall Ward; and | 13 | | be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Troy Ward as an expression of our | 16 | | sympathy.
