SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ansel Ross Bartlett of Rushville, who
4passed away on July 27, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was born in Schuyler County on
6December 22, 1922 to Ernest C. and Mary Ross Barlett; he
7attended Hale Ridge School and graduated from Rushville High
8School in 1940; he married Barbara Jeanne Barnes on May 14,
91949 in Hillsboro; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was a life-long farmer in Schuyler
11County; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was a member of the First United
13Methodist Church, Rushville Lodge #9 Ancient Free and Accepted
14Masons, the Lusk Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Rushville
15Commandery #56 Knights Templers, and the 22 Club of Schuyler
16County; he coached Little League for over 20 years and sang in
17the church choir, the Schuyler Singers, at many special events;
18he was a former member of the Board of Directors of the
19Schuyler State Bank and served as a Democratic Precinct
20Committeeman for many years; in 1980, he was elected Rushville
21Township Supervisor; he enjoyed ice skating, hunting, fishing,
22sports, and music; he was very proud of his family cabin which

1was the former Hale Ridge School House, and he enjoyed spending
2time there with his family; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett was preceded in death by his
4parents, and his daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bartlett; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ansel Bartlett is survived by his wife, Barbara;
6sons, Ronald (Marsha) Bartlett, Randall Bartlett, Roderick
7Bartlett, and Robert (Crystal) Bartlett; grandchildren, Amanda
8Stoll, Ross Bartlett, Matthew Bartlett, Grace Bartlett, Austi
9Emerick, Bronson Bartlett, and Jagger Bartlett;
10great-grandchildren, Madeline Stoll and Makenzie Stoll; and
11sisters, Anne Ross Bauer and Beatrice Hall; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Ansel Ross Bartlett, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Ansel Bartlett as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
