| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Ralph Baahlmann Sr. of | 4 | | Godfrey, who passed away on December 25, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann was born on September 26, 1924, in | 6 | | Aviston to Henry and Frances (Renschen) Baahlmann; he became a | 7 | | registered nurse and worked his way through dental school at | 8 | | St. Louis University School of Dentistry; he served in the | 9 | | Korean War and he married Virginia "Ginny" Gangloff on June 14, | 10 | | 1952; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann built a dental practice in Alton and | 12 | | served the community until his retirement in 1996; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic | 14 | | Church in Godfrey, was a lifetime member of the Knights of | 15 | | Columbus, and was a member of Lockhaven Country Club; he served | 16 | | on the board of directors of St. Anthony's Hospital and served | 17 | | on the Illinois State Board of Examiners for Dentistry; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Baahlmann is survived by his wife, Virginia; | 19 | | his children, Ralph H. Baahlmann Jr., Mark G. Baahlmann, | 20 | | Barbara M. Boyd (Dr. Tobin Boyd), Matthew L. Baahlmann (Teri), | 21 | | Nancy E. Reese (Tom), and John L. Baahlmann (Nancy); his |

| 1 | | grandchildren, Matthew and Jill Baahlmann, Matthew Korte and | 2 | | Kortney, Nick Korte, Christopher and Megan Springman, Grace and | 3 | | Jacob Reese, and Ashley Kaid (Anthony); and his | 4 | | great-grandchildren, Keagan Korte and Haylee Kaid; therefore, | 5 | | be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Dr. Baahlmann, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
